Review #59 – Lost & Found Co.
Well found.
Lost & Found Co. is an endearing search-and-find puzzle game analogous to children’s books like Where’s Waldo and I Spy. It’s not necessarily the most engaging video game—looking around a scene and clicking on stuff can only go so far—but it gamifies the hidden object concept in an impressive way.
It’s wild how much detail every scene has because unlike a static Martin Handford illustration, everything is interactive. Characters will react if you click on them, and some objects can only be found by clicking on another item first. You can even change floors and enter separate rooms, making it feel like a natural step from a standard puzzle book.
Searching for objects is fun time and the game does a good job at giving you subtle hints if you want them. I personally could’ve done without the overly wordy narrative—I don’t think it really needed the abundance of exposition. But it’s a beautifully handcrafted game with an impressive attention to detail.
