About this site

WightnNerdy.com is an independent game-review blog launched in January 2025 by Andrew Wight, AKA “WightnNerdy.”

About me

I’ve been gaming for over 3 decades. My first console was the Sega Genesis back in the early 90s, but I really fell in love with the industry with my Game Boy Pocket, Nintendo 64, and PlayStation (which I had to beg my parents to get my siblings and I for Christmas).

I’ve been a massive fan of playing games since trying Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the first time, but Super Mario 64 was the first game that really blew my tiny 7-year-old mind. Although I started in the 16-bit era, it was the 3D generation where my passion for gaming really skyrocketed. I have so many warm memories of playing Ocarina of Time, GoldenEye 007, Mario Party, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 2 with friends and family.

About my reviews

Reviewing games has been a side project of mine for a while — I’ve been writing about video games for over 15 years. I know I’m obviously not the best or most experienced writer in the world, but writing about games has always been a fun way to supplement my favourite hobby.

My reviews use a 5-point system. Below are the metrics I use to score a game:

5 stars – Essential. This is a game you absolutely need to play.
4 stars – Great. This is a game you should probably play.
3 Stars – Okay. You may like this game, but play at your own risk.
2 Stars – Bad. This is a game you probably shouldn't play.
1 Star – Abysmal. Avoid this game at all costs.

Supporting me

Enjoying the experience? I don't have any tangible ways of supporting me but just reading my reviews is more than enough. So, if you're reading this — thank you. :)
